"Supporting rail in the Marston Vale"





Annual Ramble – 23 September 2017.

Starting from and returning to Ridgmont Station. 

Meet at Ridgmont 12.20 pm. 
Trains arrive at 12.19 pm from Bletchley (departing Bletchley at 12.01pm) and at 12.20pm from Bedford (departing Bedford at 11.55am) The terrain is mainly flat with some gentle rising slopes. 

There is one railway crossing, one set of steep steps, several road crossings but no stiles this year.  Some parts can be quite muddy and involve passing across fields with crops, through woodland and along Woburn Estate roads. Sections may include seeing Safari animals…… 

The ramble should take approximately 3 hours and is about 6 miles/9.5 km. 

Refreshments available at Ridgmont Station Tea Room but booking is essential by phoning Tel No: 01525 287120. Space is limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment – there is a 10% discount for rail passengers. The Tea Room is open from 9.00am to 4.00pm and the Heritage Centre will also be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Note: Comfortable walking boots and waterproofs are recommended. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies, but is suitable for children – so please bring the family along. Normal train fares to apply on the train.
